Why did it take cancer?
to let myself be loved
to realize who I've been is not who I truly am
to experience living in the moment, no matter what that moment may bring
to know that a small life is just as valuable as a big one
to allow myself to open up my heart and be vulnerable
to discover my empathy blossomed out of my pain
Some of us were born knowing how to live,
some of us must learn.
