Our home is in Vancouver, BC, Canada, where we have a retreat-like space for supporting our community, and for our nonprofit administration. Our Vancouver programs and services are created primarily for past retreat participants who wish to continue to develop emotionally and spiritually, as well as for their loved ones. In addition, we offer counselling support and healing circles to individuals and families who are living with cancer at any stage, or who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Callanish is a community-driven rather than a program-driven organization, and thus our offerings evolve based on the needs of our community. All opportunities are offered by donation or on a sliding scale.
We also collaborate with healthcare teams and communities around the globe—designing and facilitating healing circles and ceremonies to address such issues as grief, loss, death and dying, and fear.
"I have seen a light return to Mom that was missing for so very long. Your organization is quite possibly the most giving and honest form of healing that anyone could ask for."
— Callanish family member
Please Note: Our Vancouver space is a refuge for the work of the heart and soul. Therefore, we do not make it available as a social gathering space, nor for unscheduled drop-ins. Please call to arrange a visit if you wish to learn more about our community and its programs.
The Gathering Space
Spacious, warm and minimalist with double height ceilings, emanating natural light from eleven skylights. Used for small or large support groups, restorative yoga and qigong, meditation, day retreats, family meetings, and community events for up to 60 people. A place of simple beauty to rest and reconnect with life.
The Art Studio
All wood and colour, shelves abundant with art supplies, and a long community table that beckons for creativity to unfold.
The Sound Room
Smooth and white like a blank slate and home to eight crystal bowls that fill your soul with healing sounds.
The Sand Tray Room
Eclectic shelves filled with miniature objects and symbols for using the Jungian therapy of making stories in a tray of sand.
Cozy, inviting spaces to lay down your burdens and discover new ways to engage with living.
Simple and quaint covered courtyard for a breath of fresh air.
The front office, affectionately known as the vortex. Where all the inner workings of the organization happen. The threshold to our home—where old memories are held and future ones imagined.
